The Wharf

Taken from the end of the wharf, looking back toward downtown.

Also from the end of the wharf, this time showing the compass inlaid in the wharf deck. The farthest compass point is North.

The pelicans are mighty friendly. That's because they're accustomed to being fed the fisherman's catch that are too small for him to take home. The pelicans are awesome birds, and it's amazing to be able to get so close to them.

The Museum of Natural History operates the Sea Center on the wharf. Unfortunately, it is being closed down in early 2002 for an 18-month remodeling project.
