This website is a tribute to Wayne Harris, a pioneer son of California, the fourth generation to live in the hills around Hesperia. As Wayne turns 75 (in 2003), it is fitting to celebrate his life by memorializing the sites, sights, and stories of the area as he lived them, and saw them, and remembers them.

Hesperia
Heritage

Here are some of Wayne's ancestors. Note in particular the oldest gentleman, whose wooden leg you can just barely see above the dog's in-motion head. That's Ethelbert, and the story of his leg will someday be included on this website. His son Jeff (front right) is Wayne's grandfather. (On the tour, you'll see the rock outcropping where this photo was taken.)
